RETTmobil 2026: Exhibitors focus on technology and specialized deployment solutions
In just a few weeks, Fulda will once again become an international meeting point for the emergency services sector: From May 6 to 8, 2026, responders, manufacturers, and organizations from around the world will gather at RETTmobil International. The trade fair has been fully booked for weeks. Around 500 exhibitors from 28 countries are expected.
In addition to European countries, providers from the USA, China, Israel, Turkey, India, the United Arab Emirates, and, for the first time, Thailand will be represented. The focus will be on products and concepts for emergency medical services, fire departments, as well as civil protection and disaster relief.
Medical technology and digitalization
In the field of medical technology, Zoll Medical will present the new “Zenix” monitor/defibrillator. According to the manufacturer, the device combines a large touchscreen with functions supporting ventilation and resuscitation. Technologies such as “Real-CPR-Help” and “Real-BVM-Help” are designed to provide emergency personnel with real-time feedback on the quality of interventions and facilitate adjustments under operational conditions.
Vehicles and conversion concepts
Several exhibitors are focusing on new vehicle solutions and conversion concepts. System Strobel, for example, will present a patient transport vehicle with a proprietary mid-height roof based on the Ford Transit Custom, as well as a new XXL box body for 5-ton chassis.
Krämer Special Vehicles will present the “Rawkar,” an amphibious emergency vehicle with water propulsion and a propeller, for the first time.
WAS will showcase the WAS-500-E, an electrically powered ambulance. Auto-Fiegl will also address electromobility in patient transport.
Volkswagen will present the seventh generation of the VIANIS VW New Transporters, which for the first time is based on a Ford platform and is offered in various versions, including for emergency medical services.
BMW will present the iX3, a fully electric vehicle in a fire brigade design.
After a two-year break, Mercedes-Benz will once again be represented at RETTmobil with its own stand.
Specialized equipment for extraordinary deployment scenarios
In the field of fire and disaster protection technology, the spectrum at RETTmobil ranges from conversion and equipment solutions to specialized vehicles.
BTS Brandschutztechnik, for example, will provide information on options for transferring box bodies to new chassis.
The Walser rapid discharge system enables large quantities of extinguishing water to be released from vehicle tanks in a short time and is primarily used in wildfires. A special feature: Walser TLF and GTLF vehicles are equipped with a midship pump located directly at the driver’s cab.
Hänsch will present systems for drill-free installation of lightbars as well as load carriers using clamp mounts on existing roof rails.
Respirex, together with its specialized subsidiary MFC International, will present mobile, inflatable decontamination systems for CBRN scenarios, available in various sizes.
Stem EMS will introduce “Revel-D,” a system that enables the transport of up to four stretchers in military vehicles, even on uneven terrain.
Equipment and infrastructure
Manufacturers of equipment are also using the trade fair to present new products. Makita will showcase the high-performance JR0002G reciprocating saw featuring an anti-vibration system and tool-free blade change.
Manitou will present the compact MT 730 telescopic handler for operations in confined urban environments. Lava Marine, in turn, will bring specially developed flood response boats.
DRK Fulda has announced a 25-meter-long mobile medical container that integrates, among other things, a doctor’s practice, videolaryngoscopy, ultrasound technology, and additional medical equipment.
Practical exercises and air rescue
The supporting program includes scenario-based exercises. On May 7 at 1:00 p.m., a technical-medical rescue of a person trapped in a garbage truck compactor will be demonstrated. Organization and execution are in the hands of ASB LV Hessen e.V., ASB RV Frankfurt/Main e.V., and the professional fire brigade Frankfurt/Main.
A particular highlight this year is the presentation by Johanniter Air Rescue: On May 8 at 11:00 a.m., Johanniter plan to land an intensive care transport helicopter of the type H145 D3 on the adjacent sports field at the exhibition grounds. Following this, until 2:00 p.m., an accompanying exhibition invites visitors to explore the world of air rescue—featuring insights into technology and equipment, a material presentation by Johanniter Air Rescue, and information on a wide range of career opportunities. The activity is subject to suitable weather conditions to ensure safe landing and takeoff.
Training and off-road course
In addition, the trade fair offers numerous training sessions and workshops for emergency personnel. Bookings are only possible online at https://www.rettmobil-international.com/rahmenprogramm/fortbildungen/. Particularly in demand are the practical training sessions of the LUKAS RESCUE LEAGUE, which take place twice daily. Initial sessions are already fully booked.
A unique feature of the trade fair is the off-road course: here, visitors can not only see various emergency vehicles but also ride along.
Organization and schedule
The trade fair is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Travel is possible via Fulda ICE train station with a free shuttle bus; parking is also available free of charge. Tickets are available online at https://rettmobil.ticket.io/.
The traditional closing of RETTmobil will take place on May 8 at 5 p.m. with the customary “Abhupen” (final honking) and the departure of emergency vehicles from the grounds.
